Coachmy coaching philosophy: nothing is impossible with the right plan, patient progression, and honest execution.
Expertise: Science-Driven Endurance Coaching
Training built on physiology, data, and practical field experience
Clear, structured plans for Sprint, Olympic, 70.3, and Ironman
Smart load management, technique focus, and measurable progress
Simple language, no fluff—so you understand the “why” behind every session
15 Years in Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching For 15 years I’ve studied nutrition and coached lifestyle change. I integrate this deeply into triathlon coaching because fueling, recovery, and daily habits are performance multipliers. Done right, nutrition becomes your secret weapon:
Personalized fueling for training and race day (carb timing, hydration, sodium)
Body composition goals without compromising performance
Gut training for long-course racing
Sustainable habits that fit your life—not crash diets
A Holistic Approach: Sport, Work, Family, Life Triathlon doesn’t live in a vacuum. I coach the whole athlete to optimize not just fitness potential—but life potential. That means aligning training with your work schedule, family commitments, sleep, stress, and travel. When these pieces move in harmony, you don’t just race better—you become the best version of yourself.
Flexible week design around your real calendar
Stress-aware adjustments to protect consistency
Recovery systems that fit busy lives
Mindset frameworks for confidence and resilience
Accessible, Affordable, High-Standard Coaching High-level coaching should be accessible. I offer clear tiers and flexible support so cost never becomes the barrier to excellence. You’ll always get professional, scientific guidance—delivered with empathy, clarity, and accountability.
My Commitment to You
Professional, detail-oriented, and transparent communication

Michael Bruhn-Rasmussen
The AthleteMy Athletic Journey: From Hiatus to Ironman I’m Michael Bruhn-Rasmussen, a 35-year-old triathlete and evidence-based coach. After a 12-year break from structured sport, I returned to triathlon with a simple premise: nothing is impossible with the right plan and ruthless consistency. I coached myself to a 9:04 Ironman finish in just 1½ year and am now in my second season, building toward a sub-8:30 Ironman in August 2026.
My Approach: Science First, Life-Aware Execution
Physiology-led planning: I design training around energy systems, progressive overload, and individualized intensity distribution (e.g., polarized and pyramidal models when appropriate).
Data with context: I track HR, power, pace, HRV, and RPE—but decisions are made by blending data with how the body feels and responds day-to-day.
Consistency beats perfection: I prioritize sustainable load and sleep over heroic sessions that jeopardize recovery.
Specificity with guardrails: I build race-specific fitness while capping unnecessary fatigue—so you arrive fit and fresh, not just fit and fried.
Philosophy: Accessible Excellence High performance shouldn’t be reserved for the few. I believe elite-level methods can be simplified and applied to any athlete with a real job and a real life. Training must integrate with work, family, and recovery so you can sustain progress for months and years—not weeks.
Execution: What Training Looks Like with Me
Clear intent per session: Every workout has a purpose—build aerobic capacity, raise threshold, sharpen economy, or practice fueling.
Micro-periodization: I use short cycles (7–10 days) to match life demands, with frequent, small adjustments to protect momentum.
Fuel for function: Carbohydrate availability is matched to session goals; sodium, hydration, and gut training are built in early—race day is never a surprise.
Technique and efficiency: I invest in skills—swim mechanics, bike position and cadence range, run form and elasticity—to make speed cost less.
Recovery systems: Sleep hygiene, de-loads, and stress management are non-negotiable; you improve when you absorb the work.
Results: Proof of Concept
Ironman in 9:04 after returning from a 12-year hiatus with just 18 month of training.
Self-coached planning and execution without external coaching input
Rapid development built on structured loading, rigorous nutrition, and life-aware scheduling
Nutrition and Lifestyle: The Secret Weapon I’ve studied nutrition for 15 years and coached lifestyle change nearly as long. I integrate fueling, body composition strategy, and habit design directly into training because performance is built 24/7, not just during workouts. Done right, nutrition turns from a variable into an advantage—what I call a performance multiplier.
Goals: Where I’m Headed
Sub-8:30 Ironman in August 2026
Continued refinement of data-driven training models that work for ambitious, time-constrained athletes
Sharing scalable, affordable coaching so more athletes can chase bold goals with confidence
